a company would make a video game version of their movie for a number of reasons
to get people who are interested in video games into the movie
to make people feel like they are in control of the movies story line
to make people think they are directing a movie of their own because you can control the actions and the choices the character makes
also releasing a video game would bring in lots of revenue for the company and because of this revenue and high traffic to the video games and movies could possibly give them inspiration to keep making videogames and or movies.
